Carmant

A lantern I found, there was a CarMANT car,
Love’s never ending for your favourite car…

Vor der Kaserne,

At the barracks compound,
By the entry way, Both our shadows meeting,
There a lantern I found Melting into one,
And if it stands today Our love was not fleeting.
Then we’ll see each other again And plain to everyone,
Near that old lantern we’ll remain Then all the people shall behold
As once Lili Marleen, When we stand by that lantern old,
As once Lili Marleen. As once Lili Marleen.

Concept car by Mercedes for Marlene Dietrich in 1936: the 500 K ‘Marlene’.

This tinyer version of the legendary Mercedes 540 K (successor of the SSK) is a detailed reconstruction of the dream-raodster in snow-white.

THE roadster for

1992 she was built by Classic Roadsters in Fargo, North Dakota, USA, outside in the elegant style of the Mercedes 540 K of the “Roaring 30s”, inside with the technical luxury of the 1990s with a 2.8 liter Ford Mustang, automatic gear and sportive sound inclusive.

Of course, this CarMANT-Roadster has air conditioning – two noble fanfares, five chromium spoke wheels with white wall tires and two chromium fog lamps show the outside luxury. The dash board is made from finest burlwood, the Nardi wood steering wheel, tinted glass and the marine cover show the inside luxury.

The American automotive journalist Curt Scott wrote about this car:

“Reminiscent of the legendary 500 K Mercedes roadsters of the 1930s, the Marlene 500 K is one of Classic Roadsters’ most popular models. The name was derived from the fact that in 1936 Daimler Benz designed a personalized model for film star Marlene Dietrich, and thus the title “Marlene” seemed an appropriate sobriquet. Downsized a bit, and lighter and more nimble than the Teutonic original, the Marlene is the marvellous motorcar for enthusiasts who appreciate the timeless styling of the 1930s Daimlers, but require more economy and practicality for everyday driving.”

Having driven this roadster with the beloved one or another beautifull one just for one day turns everyone into a fan of this car. Nothing compares to the flair of the 1930s in connection with the technical luxury of the 1990s, especially not to today’s cars built free from air drags.
