One of Mercedes’ last hand built series cars.
The opening of the Daimler-Benz Museum in Untertürkheim on 24. February 1961 was the hour of birth for the new Mercedes-Benz 220 SEb Roadster.
Elegant, representative and with a strong vibrancy: this was the new S-Class. The strong tail fins of the saloon cars were revised a d formed into the soft lines of the car body.
The 220 SEb roadster was a complete new construction apart from the engine, chassis and safety car body which was taken from the 220 SE saloon.
Today is the elegant CarMANT-Mercedes 220 SEb Roadster
- the preferred “wedding carriage”,
- used as VIP shuttle service for special guests and dear friends from/to the airport or RR-station,
- or as escort to a romantic candlelight-dinner,
- to the opera in the evening,
- as birthday surprise or
- just for fun because the small things make the big differences in life.
By the way: the Mercedes 220 SE was the first car to have front wheel disk brakes and novel spline-cone door locks stopping the doors from opening during a crash. With 5 comfortable seats, she is one of the largest German roadsters with outsanding heavy chromium bumpers and dual head lights.
Our CarMANT 220 SEb roadster of 1966 was enjoyed in californian climate for nearly 40 years by an american millionaire in Santa Barbara. We bought it back in 2007 and had her well restored
We had renewals done:
- heavily lined softtop,
- complete undercarriage,
- exchange engine,
- general technical elements,
- red leather all over, red carpets.
This big roadster can be driven easily by virtue of her automatic gear, the power steering and her strong inline 6 cylinder engine. Loads of room for 2 persons, even for up to 5 persons enough. We have installed a modern Becker-Mexico-Radio with navigation system and integrated mobilfon and power antenna.
The CarMANT 220 SEb Roadster is the most beautfull of all our roadsters with her light-silver-grey paint and the red leather and also the most precious one of olur collection.
